“Open Days” To Learn How To Use Resources From The City

Sharing information and skills among participants, thus improving the use of resources of the city: this is the concept behind the OPOLAB OPEN DAYS, one of the initiatives submitted to the ScaleUp Porto Open Call. OPOLAB will open its doors for the most participative citizens, motivating them to solve their own problems, the ones of of their neighborhood and consequently, of the city. Personal and professional projects, carried out in a spirit of sharing and interaction, always followed closely by professionals and tools from the most traditional to the most innovative.

Starting in October and happening till the end of the year, the activities will take place on Saturdays from 3pm to 6pm. The dates are:

  • October 28
  • November 4 and 18
  • December 2, 16 and 30

On those days, the agenda will start with a guided tour of the OPOLAB space, presenting the resources available and explaining the potential of the FABLAB concept. FabLabs democratize tools and knowledge usually monopolized by industry and the entrepreneurial world, having real results and solutions for the cities and for those who live in it.

The Open Days are a fundamental opportunity for the community to begin to understand the real usefulness of fablab’s and to know some topics of impact for the city such as circular economy, eco-design, waste valorization, product life cycle, and several others realities. In addition, these activities also aim to stimulate the community of makers to share interest and create new projects.

Of course, the OPEN DAYS are open to the whole community!
