The Women Techmakers movement arrived to Porto for the first time in 2016.
This international initiative, that was launched and supported by Google, aims at showcasing women’s talent in the tech industry supporting it through access to greater visibility and innovation.
The event is back for a new edition, this time completely thought for mothers and their kids. This year’s initiative is co-organized by Porto Google Developer Group and will take place in the Central Building of UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto on March 18th.
The agenda of the event includes robotics introduction workshops and programming for children aged 7 to 12 accompanied by their mothers.
Catarina Simões, founder of Last2Ticket, a startup that is part of the tech ecosystem in Porto and is partner of the movement, says: “In this edition, we want to provide fun moments bringing the technological component to the family games. We know the theme is not explored, so the event is an excellent opportunity for kids to learn how to program a robot or to experience a virtual reality experience.”
In addition to programming and robotics, it will also be possible to know more about topics such as IoT, technological sensors, intelligent data analysis and interaction between people and machines. Get your ticket right here!
