On February 27th, the Municipality of Porto held the first edition of Porto de Economia Forum at the Alfândega Congress Center. This event brought together companies, entrepreneurs, academia, and other economic stakeholders.
The primary goal of this Forum was to emphasize the economic development of the city by integrating elements such as entrepreneurship, investment attraction, and sustainable economic growth, with talent management serving as the central focus.
During the day, we delved into current economic challenges, shared best practices and useful tools, through conferences, masterclasses, talks, and an exhibition area.
To address the theme “From research to the market: turning talent into businesses,” our panel featured André Fernandes from U.Porto Inovação, André Albergaria from i3S, Débora Campos, Founder & CEO of AgroGrIN Tech, and Maria Oliveira from UPTEC, who moderated the discussion.
Vítor Freitas, one of the creators of the Entrepreneur’s Notebook, facilitated a masterclass on “Entrepreneurship: Ideation and the Business Model Canvas.”
To reflect on the importance of communities in attracting and retaining talent, we had the participation of Pedro Rocha from 351 Portuguese Startup Association, Tiago Carvalho Araújo from Workin Porto, and Tânia Almeida Santos from CRU Creative Hub.
More than 50 entities were present in the exhibition area of Porto de Economia Forum, including key players of the entrepreneurship ecosystem:
351 Portuguese Startup Association | ANJE | Caderno do Empreendedor – Eibizion | Centro de Inovação Social – CIS Porto | Founders Founders | i3S – Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde | Startup Portugal | UPTEC
