University of Porto Spin-Offs Gather at The Circle Club’s Latest Event
On October 24, a select group of ten spin-offs from the University of Porto came together for the latest meeting of The Circle, an exclusive club for companies born out of the university’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Hosted at UPTEC’s facilities, the session was part of the broader BIN@ event, bringing a range of industry insights and networking opportunities.
Highlight: Caixa Geral de Depósitos Joins as New Partner
One of the main highlights of the gathering was the announcement of Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) as the latest partner of The Circle. Victor Ferreira, Digital Transformation Bank Manager at CGD, led an engaging presentation on the topic: “How Universal Retail Banking Can Stay Relevant for Its Clients.” His talk provided fresh insights on digital transformation within the banking sector, a subject increasingly critical as financial institutions adapt to shifting consumer expectations and technological advancements.
With this new addition, CGD joins the ranks of The Circle’s other prominent partners: the Municipality of Porto, Porto Business School, and UPTEC, all of which had representatives attending the event.
Spotlight on EZ4U’s Success Story with LINK Mobility
The event also featured a showcase of EZ4U, a University of Porto spin-off that recently achieved a significant milestone. CEO Vasco Vinhas presented on EZ4U’s recent acquisition by LINK Mobility, providing insights into the acquisition process and sharing valuable lessons with the other attendees. Vinhas was available for questions, making this session a unique learning experience for aspiring entrepreneurs.

As with all The Circle gatherings, the event concluded with networking opportunities, giving attendees a chance to connect, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration within this vibrant entrepreneurial community.
