The 54th edition of Above & Beyond Hangout brought founders, investors and members of the entrepreneurial community together for an evening dedicated to one of the most valuable skills for startups: pitching.
Throughout the session, nine startups presented their projects in Lisbon and Porto, sharing their ideas with a panel of experienced investors and ecosystem leaders. This edition featured a jury composed of Assunção Magalhães (Semapa Next), Carmo Ferreira da Silva (Bright Pixel Capital), Martim Velez (Portugal Ventures) and Bernardo Pequito (Beta Capital), who shared their perspectives and feedback with participating teams.
While the jury deliberated, participants also heard pitches from SARA and SOLVO, two teams taking part in the European Innovation Academy, currently hosted in Porto.
Why Pitching Matters
A strong pitch is more than a presentation. It helps founders communicate their vision, explain the problem they are solving and demonstrate the value of their solution.
Pitching sessions also create opportunities to receive feedback, refine ideas and engage with investors and other entrepreneurs. These conversations can help founders identify new perspectives and better prepare for future opportunities.
At the end of the session, the jury selected Constructer.ai as the winner in Lisbon and OWLplaces as the winning startup in Porto.
