ScaleUp Porto Launches New Masterclass Cycle

The ScaleUp Porto initiative will continue this month with the cycle of masterclasses within the scope of the support and growth strategy aimed mainly at local technology startups.

ScaleUp Porto has just announced a new set of masterclasses, expert training sessions for the region’s technology community. The first session will take place on September 13th and three more will follow, ending on October 22nd. Once again, the aim is to provide, with the support of the city’s technological ecosystem, an approach to different themes and jointly promote moments of sharing and learning with local peers and international guests.

The first session, scheduled for September 13, will be addressed by Miguel Pinho, Seedcamp’s technology leader, who will speak about the experience of this European reference fund that has invested in unicorns such as TransferWise and Revolut, among other cases of success. This masterclass will take place between 14h and 15h30, at Porto Innovation Hub (PIH).

Following are two sessions on leadership and team management. The first one, on September 27, between 9am and 1pm, will be actress Inês Garrido, in a session directed to those who work in the area of ​​Human Resources or who are in charge of leading teams on a daily basis.

On October 14, between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm, there’s a new masterclass at PIH, this time dedicated to the remote management of rapidly growing equipment. This session will feature Marcus Wermuth, Buffer Engineering Manager, a US company whose team across 15 countries works 100% remotely, and Gonçalo Hall, creator of the “The Remote Work” podcast, which discusses the steps required to create and use a team. remote. It should be noted that this session and the previous one have a partnership with Learn 2 Lead, a movement made up of members of the technology community, which aims to impact the ecosystem with training sessions that develop human capital, building an organizational culture aligned with current global reality.

The end of this cycle will be up to Sonja Moosburger, Managing Director of MediaMarktSaturn N3XT, who will focus his presentation on relationships between large companies and startups. The last chapter of this masterclass cycle will also take place in PIH.
