SUMMARY:Innovations for Non-Communicable Diseases and Mental Health Management in Primary Health Care (International call deadline)
DESCRIPTION:Through this challenge\, our objective is to identify two well-suited innovations for implementation in primary healthcare settings to enhance person-centered\, high-quality care for Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) and mental health. These selected technologies will receive support for feasibility assessment and preparation for deployment in primary healthcare facilities within the targeted Developing Member Countries (DMCs) in the ADB’s portfolio\, specifically Bangladesh\, Indonesia\, or Uzbekistan. \nNon-communicable diseases (NCDs)\, including mental health conditions\, present a significant challenge to public health and economies globally. The impact of NCDs and mental health conditions is particularly pronounced in the Asia-Pacific region\, with a disproportionate burden on low- and middle-income countries. Introducing health technology innovations like point-of-care diagnostics\, mobile health applications\, telemedicine\, wearable devices\, and other artificial intelligence and machine learning-enabled digital health tools\, holds immense potential as a crucial intervention. These technologies are poised to enhance screening\, diagnosis\, self-care\, and management of NCDs and mental health conditions for communities in primary healthcare settings. \nThrough this joint effort\, PATH and ADB aim to drive the adoption of innovative technologies to elevate the management of NCDs and mental health at the primary care level.

DESCRIPTION:A receção de candidaturas para a edição 2024 dos Global Awards da Organização Mundial da Propriedade Intelectual (OMPI) encontra-se aberta até 31 de março. Esta edição conta com uma nova categoria dedicada a start-ups. \nA iniciativa visa reconhecer exemplos excecionais de comercialização de Propriedade Intelectual (PI) com impacto social e económico. São convidadas as PME de todo o mundo e de todos os setores da economia – tecnologia\, agricultura\, indústrias criativas e mais além – a submeter candidaturas com base em qualquer forma de PI\, desde direitos de autor até patentes. \nUm painel de peritos independentes irá selecionar sete vencedores\, convidados posteriormente a participar na cerimónia de entrega dos prémios\, a acontecer em Genebra\, no mês de julho. Os vencedores irão receber um programa personalizado de mentoria\, acesso facilitado a financiamento e oportunidades de parcerias de negócios.

DESCRIPTION:Organizado pela U.Porto Inovação\, o iUP25k tem como objetivo ser uma verdadeira ação de ignição para o empreendedorismo e para a criação de empresas inovadoras e com impacto. Além disso\, pretende premiar os estudantes\, cientistas\, professores\, funcionários ou alumni da U.Porto que\, com os seus projetos\, pretendam valorizar o conhecimento gerado na instituição. \nDesde a sua criação\, em 2010\, o iUP25k já apoiou dezenas de ideias. Para esta décima edição\, o concurso conta com o apoio dos parceiros Caixa Geral de Depósitos e UPTEC e há prémios monetários reservados para os três primeiros classificados: 3.000 euros para o primeiro\, 2.000 para o segundo e 1.000 para o terceiro. \nOs três primeiros classificados vão ainda beneficiar de um período de incubação na UPTEC e serviços de consultoria em empreendedorismo \nAs candidaturas ao iUP25k 2024 já estão abertas e decorrem até 29 de abril de 2024. Para participar basta apenas dois passos: assinar a declaração de compromisso e submeter o formulário de candidatura. \nO anúncio das 12 equipas finalistas terá lugar a 14 de maio.
