SUMMARY:Event: Porto: A Rising Tech and Talent Hub in Europe - UPTEC
DESCRIPTION: \nPortugal is among the fifteen best OECD countries to attract and retain different types of talented migrants: highly educated workers\, foreign entrepreneurs\, university students and startup founders\, among others. The country’s attractiveness acknowledged by the OECD Indicators of Talent Attractiveness (ITA) takes us to a discussion about the best practices and strategies for building a diverse and inclusive tech workforce. \nWith this in mind\, UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto\, in cooperation with Portugal Tech Hub\, will organise the “Porto: A Rising Tech and Talent Hub in Europe” event\, an initiative that aims to bring together industry leaders\, startups\, municipalities\, and government representatives to explore the latest developments and opportunities in Portugal’s tech industry. \nThroughout the event – one of the fifteen initiatives organised to celebrate UPTEC’s 15th anniversary –\, we will discuss how the Porto region is adapting its mindset to welcome international tech hubs\, promoting the retaining of top talent\, and discuss sustainable and inclusive practices to create a thriving tech ecosystem. \n  \nAgenda\n2.30 pm – Welcome – UPTEC brief presentation by Maria Oliveira\, UPTEC Executive Director \n2.45 pm – Portugal Tech Hub Presentation – Pedro Moura\, Chief Marketing Officer at Landing.Jobs \n3.00 pm – Embracing the growth mindset – strategies for building and growing sustainable tech ecosystems \n3.40 pm – Managing the talent gap – how startups and international tech hubs may coexist and thrive \n4.20 pm – Networking Coffee-Break \n
