The sales expert, Angel Garrorena, was one of the guests to visit the city of Porto during the Start and Scale Week. Today we’re remembering some important tips from the expert.

The Start & Scale Week has passed, but we keep sharing relevant knowledge. We already shared what happened during the “Secure your code” masterclass and today is time to talk about sales. To be more precise, about the masterclass Scale Your Scales given by Angel.

Angel Garrorena has worked with companies such as Reuters, Xerox and Sitel, always linked to business development and sales. Over its 20 years of experience he has developed his own method that he calls, Lean Sales:

“(…) a sales methodology, that helps companies to plan, implement and improve sales strategies, and of course the sales performance.”

At the same time, Garrorena is also a teacher in several educational institutions and collaborates with startups in their first steps at incubators and accelerators such as Wayra, Plug and Play, Lanzadera, Olimpo, Via Vigo, CEIN, among others.

Under the topic “Scale Your Sales”, Angel Garrorena’s masterclass focused on strategies to help scaleup the sales process. Define and increase sales, specific strategies with immediate application and several real and practical examples captured the attention of all the participants during a whole afternoon at Palácio da Bolsa.

For those who missed the opportunity to participate in the masterclass, Angel Garrorena left 3 quick tips:

  • Show examples and short stories of pains and gains in the customer´s business;
  • Provide benefits that solve your customer needs and expectations;
  • Summarize, listen and let your customer talk.

When questioned about the startup scene in Porto, Garrorena highlights the role of the municipality:

“I was very surprised by the municipality support to the startup scene; many towns and cities should learn from Porto and the entrepreneurial movement. The startups that I met were attractive, many of them have interesting projects and I bet I will listen cool things about them in a short time.”
